Yesterday's passage for The Journey was Psalm 20. However, since it was both my birthday and a snow (ice) day for the kids, I slept late and then played all day, never setting aside time to read this sweet psalm.
Last night, when met with the shocking news of my grandmother's diagnosis of increasingly worse cancer, I am so grateful that a sweet friend didn't hesitate to send me to Psalm 20.
"May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble!
May the name of the God of Jacob set you securely on high!
May He send you help from the sanctuary
And support you from Zion!
May He remember all your meal offerings
And find your burnt offering acceptable!
May He grant you your heart's desire
And fulfill all your counsel!
We will sing for joy over your victory,
And in the name of our God we will set up our banners.
May the Lord fulfill all your petitions." - Psalm 20:1-5
My prayer is for clarity of mind for Grandma during these last days, a preservation of her sweet spirit and a love for Grandpa that will make memories of her up to the end a good representation of who she always has been - God-fearing and caring. She has made a huge impact on her 4 children, 11 grandchildren, and 40+ (and counting) great-grandchildren, just to name a few.
